The EXE-Cell, a truly innovative load cell interface system developed by EXE Technology, recently won the prestigious 2015 PLASA AWARD for innovation. This fully integrated load cell system has been specifically developed to be mounted on the EXE-Rise range of electric chain hoists and is suitable for use with both D8 and D8+ units from 310 to 2000kg load configurations.
The combination of the EXE-Cell load cell interface, EXE-Rise electric chain hoist, EXE-Drive control units, the dedicated and simple to use software for managing and monitoring the parameters of the system, and the clear on-board display offer a completely different and progressive approach to safety when rigging on stage.
The 2015 PLASA Awards for Innovation & Sustainability were presented during the PLASA Show at London’s ExCeL, which took place from the 4th to 6th of October 2015. A total of 31 products were nominated for the Awards for Innovation & Sustainability this year, with only eight awards given for innovation.
The winners had to meet the judges expectations by demonstrating a new style of thinking, improving technical practice, introducing new technologies, materials or techniques, featuring patents or unique intellectual property, offering a new commercial advantage, and last but not least… improving safety on stage.
The new EXE-Cell received the following review from the Judges: "This rigging product provides an excellent visual indicator by clearly presenting load information to users. It uses a combination of software and technology built into the motor to afford the user a great deal of real-time load information.” The Judges felt the EXE-Cell was “well designed with some innovative features."
